FairMail’s new fair trade greeting card collection

We are very proud to present FairMail’s 2016 summer collection consisting of 16 great new fair trade greeting cards.

Nearly all of the Peruvian teenagers contributed with one or more of their fair trade photo’s to the new card series, developed in cooperation with FairMail’s German publisher Goldbek.

An important lesson in life
A special mention goes out to 16 year old Medalit, who managed to get her first German FairMail card. A big motivator for her and proof that the improved motivation she was showing over the past few months, does pay off with something positive she can be proud of. A life lesson we hope Medalit will remember.

Vous avez un peu plus de temps pour faire votre propre carte imprimée FairMail de Noël en ligne. Sur le site Greetz, vous pouvez sélectionner l’image FairMail de Noël de votre choix et concevoir votre propre carte et texte. Greetz se charge ensuite de l’impression de votre carte et de le livrer à temps partout dans le monde, où vous voulez!

Depuis notre dernière newsletter, 12 nouvelles cartes FairMail sont disponibles dans notre boutique en ligne.

Certaines des meilleures photos prises par nos photographes adolescents au Pérou et en Inde ont été converties en de belles nouvelles cartes pour différentes occasions : « anniversaire », « condoléances », « Mariage » et « Nouvelle maison ».

Le photographe présent sur le dos de chaque carte reçoit 50% du bénéfice réalisé sur la vente pour investir dans son éducation.

(English) FairMail nominated for Dutch Card Awards

We are very proud to let you know that FairMail has been nominated for the Dutch Card Awards: the most important prize in the Dutch greeting card industry.

FairMail made it to the last three in the category: « Most innovative card concept ». In total there where 85 entries for the Dutch Card Awards.

On the 4th of octobre the winner will be announced during the Paper & Convenience Show. Of course FairMail hopes to become the winner, but we are already very proud of this recognition coming from the greeting card field. And you bet the teenagers will be proud as well!

(English) Record earnings for FairMail teenagers

With the export of the new card collection to the Netherlands FairMail’s teenage photographer acheived record earnings again over the past months.

In total FairMail’s 27 teenage photographers earned more then 7.500 euro’s in education money, packaging wage and health insurance. In average the teenagers in Peru earned 32% more then the local fair trade liveable wage and the Indian teenagers even 252% more the the local fair trade liveable wage! Since the beginning of FairMail a total of 24.787 euro was earned by the teenagers.

Big earners in Peru where David, Cinthia and Rosita. While in India Anil, Kaushal and Dhiraj did good business with their popular cards. On the new photographers pages you can now also see how much each teenager has earned with the sale of their cards over their whole career. Check it out!

During the Paper & Convenience Show in Rosmalen last sunday,  FairMail won the de Dutch Card Award for the « most innovative card concept ». The jury consisting of sourcers of main stream chains such as V&D, Bruna and AKO, pointed to FairMail as winner because of the surprising artwork and the use of other paper materials. « Not only the combination of development, production and sales is innovative, but also the story behind  FairMail”, according to the jury.

The Dutch company FairMail is the first brand worldwide producing fair trade photo greeting cards with pictures made by Peruvian and Indian teenagers who’s name and faces are printed on the back of each card. They receive 50% of the profit of the sale of their cards to finance their education and housing. FairMail is fair trade certified by the Dutch Association of World Shops (DAWS).
